Rice prices
KARACHI: The price of 50 kg flour and different types of rice has been increased significantly in Karachi. Despite the reduction in petrol and diesel prices in Karachi, the trend of increasing food prices continues.
According to market sources, the price of a 50 kg bag of flour has been increased by Rs 400, while different types of rice have become more expensive by Rs 20 to 30 per kg.
Buyers say that despite petroleum products being cheaper, the prices of daily necessities are continuously increasing instead of decreasing, which is severely affecting the household budget.
On the other hand, shopkeepers say that if the market conditions remain the same, there is a fear of further increase in the prices of flour, rice and other essential commodities in the coming days.
