LAHORE: With the arrival of the summer season in Pakistan, the cost of solar panels massively dropped in Punjab. The need for solar panels gets a boost in summer due to soaring electricity prices and scorching heat in Pakistan.
According to the details, the cost of solar systems with capacities between 7 and 15 kilowatts decreased by Rs. 200,000. Surprisingly, the price has dropped recently, especially because summer is quickly approaching and prices usually climb around this period,
A 10-kilowatt solar system is now priced at Rs. 1.125 million, while a 7-kilowatt system is now only Rs. 825,000 with a reduction of Rs. 100,000.
A 12-kilowatt system now costs Rs. 1.4 million, down from Rs. 200,000. The report further stated that after a Rs. 200,000 decrease, the cost of a 15-kilowatt system is now Rs. 1.6 million.

Due to a spike in demand before the summer season, solar panel prices saw a notable surge as recently as last month. The cost increased between Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 300,000.
For example, the cost of a 7-kilowatt system was more than Rs. 920,000. In a similar vein, a 10-kilowatt solar panel system now costs Rs. 12.5 lac instead of Rs. 11 lac. Furthermore, the price of a 12-kilowatt system came to Rs. 16 lac, while a 15-kilowatt system cost Rs. 18 lac.
