ISLAMABAD: The prices of solar panel systems ranging from 5KW to 15KW went up by Rs 100,000 to Rs 200,000, here on Monday.
The new price of a 5KW solar panel system is now Rs 750,000, reflecting an increase of Rs 100,000. A 7KW system has increased by Rs 150,000, bringing its cost to Rs 850,000.
The price of the 10KW system has increased by Rs 200,000, which now costs Rs 1,150,000, while the price of the 12KW system has increased by Rs 150,000 to Rs 1,250,000. The 15KW system is now priced at Rs 1,400,000, an increase of Rs 150,000.
Sources attribute the price hike to the rising costs of on-grid systems, as the additional cost of batteries in hybrid systems has driven up prices.
