ISLAMABAD: All the efforts to reduce the price of sugar proved futile and in the last one week, the price of sugar increased by up to Rs 10 per kg, after which the maximum price of sugar per kg in the country reached Rs 210.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the price of sugar per kg in Peshawar increased by up to Rs 10 in one week, and the citizens of Peshawar are forced to buy sugar at the highest price in the country, up to Rs 210 per kg.
According to the report, the average price of sugar per kg increased by Rs 3.77 in one week, with the maximum price of sugar per kg in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bannu reaching Rs 200 and the price of sugar per kg in Karachi reaching Rs 195.
The Bureau of Statistics said that the average price of sugar per kilogram in the country has increased to Rs 188.81 and until last week, the average price of sugar per kilogram in the country was Rs 185.4, while a year ago, the average price of sugar per kilogram in the country was Rs 134.8.
