KARACHI: The government has decided to include unmarried women above the age of 35 in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

According to the report, a meeting of the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was held during which committee member Bilal Mandokhel said that unmarried women are not included in the Benazir Income Support Program.

Bilal Mandokhel said that the most deserving of assistance are unmarried women who have no one.

On this, BISP officials said that unmarried women above the age of 35 are also being included in the BISP.

This decision is being called a breakthrough in the social security system because there are a large number of unmarried women in the country who face financial problems due to economic difficulties, lack of family support, and limited employment opportunities.

This decision will provide financial assistance to deserving unmarried women above the age of 35, which will help them meet their daily needs.

According to experts, such measures can be helpful in removing the weaker sections from economic pressure and providing them with an opportunity to live a dignified life.

The inclusion of unmarried women in BISP will also promote social justice, as it will provide access to government assistance to those women who were previously deprived of this facility.

Public circles have welcomed the decision and said that the government should make this process transparent, easy, and fast so that the real deserving women can get the benefits promptly.
