KARACHI: The Karachi administration has announced a price reduction for wheat flour, with the wholesale price of fine wheat flour set at Rs 78 per kilogram and Rs 90 per kilogram in the retail market, a decrease of Rs 17.
Similarly, chakki flour’s price has been fixed at Rs 90 per kilogram after a reduction of Rs 10. Meanwhile, regular wheat flour’s retail price is set at Rs 70 per kilogram, with a wholesale rate of Rs 66 per kilogram.
In a separate development, Pakistan’s current account surplus increased significantly to $1.2 billion in March 2025, a 230% rise compared to the same month last year.
The country’s advisor to the finance minister attributed this growth to lower oil prices and record remittances, expecting the current account to remain in surplus until June 2025 and potentially beyond. This development is likely to boost investor confidence in the country
