RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has announced plans to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in all examination centers to ensure transparency in the 2025 Matriculation and Intermediate examinations.

The move is to ensure much articulation in the course of examinations. The new system would also encompass improvements in the process of paper marking for annual, supplementary, and practical examinations.

Board Chairman Adnan Khan directed his officials to furnish information on the CCTV cameras currently installed in examination halls in government schools and colleges of the Rawalpindi Division.

In schools and colleges where such systems are absent, surveillance cameras are expected to be placed immediately.

Private schools are no longer allowed to become designated examination centers for these exams. Next year, the examination papers will be opened and distributed under CCTV camera surveillance in front of students to ensure fairness and integrity.

Directors of colleges, deputy directors, and heads of district education authorities have sent the camera installation reports in the respective districts.

A seminar on the new paper marking system under the upgraded examination system will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at Rawalpindi Women’s University (RWU).

Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar, will be a special guest at the seminar along with the Secretary of Higher Education, Directors of Colleges, Educationists, Professors, and Teachers. The participants will likely put in their input and suggestions for further improvements.
