ISLAMABAD:  Cambridge International Education (CIE) has announced against marking the students on the leaked AS Level Mathematics exam and canceled it.

In a statement issued by CIE, Students will receive marks based on those obtained in the second paper of AS Level Mathematics and performance in other exams.

The statement further explained that all students will be given fair marks. Students who wish to retake the AS Level Mathematics exam can do so in November 2024, and there will be no fee charged for the retake.

The Cambridge administration has said that after reviewing evidence from multiple sources it has concluded that the specific level mathematics paper was leaked and seen by a significant number of students in Pakistan before the start of the exam.

Cambridge A-level Maths paper leak

Earlier this year, reports emerged on social media claiming that the “AS Level Mathematics Paper” was leaked online just before they were scheduled to take the exam on April 2.

In May, Cambridge International Education (CIE) launched an inquiry following an uproar over an alleged online leak of the AS Level Mathematics 9709 Paper 12 that was held on May 2, 2024.

The matter caused considerable anxiety among the students who sat for the exam. They were worried that it might affect their grades and future academic opportunities if the paper got canceled.
