ISLAMABAD: Cambridge International Education (CIE) has launched an investigation into the online leak of the A-level mathematics paper ahead of the exam day.

The development comes after social media users claimed that A-Level Mathematics 9709 Paper 12 was leaked online ahead of the exam on May 2, 2024.

Students and their parents also expressed concern over the reports, saying they would harm the transparency and integrity of examinations. They also demanded an investigation into the matter.

Taking note of parents’ concerns, the CIE released a statement, saying, “We are looking into the concerns of a possible paper leak for AS Level Mathematics 9709 Paper 12 on May 2, 2024.”

However, on Saturday, Cambridge International Education (CIE) denied the reports regarding the leak of the A-level mathematics paper. CIE cautioned people of fake WhatsApp and social media posts made to look like Cambridge issued them.

“Official updates and information are only communicated through our official Facebook page and official communication channels with schools, directly or through the British Council,” the CIE stated on Facebook.
