China announces scholarships scheme for Pakistani students

In an educational advancement, China has announced a scholarship scheme for AJK, Pakistani students to study and do research in Chinese universities for year 2025–2026.

The Chinese Scholarship Council, run by the Chinese government, is providing Pakistani researchers and students with the opportunity to study and do research at Chinese universities in an effort to strengthen educational collaboration between China and Pakistan. In the academic year 2025–2026, HEC is the nominating agency for these scholarships on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.

Entrusted by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Education, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) is in charge of administering and enrolling students in the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Scholarships for undergraduate/bachelor’s, graduate, and doctoral/PhD programs in their fields of study are available to qualified candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be in good health.  Applicants with incomplete degrees are not eligible. The age limit for Undergraduate is 25 years, for Masters it is 35 years and lastly for  PhD the age limit is 40 years whereas the academic requirements include   Undergraduate: Intermediate/A-level/FA-FSC (12 years) Masters: Bachelors degree (16 years) PhD: Masters degree MS/MPhil

Application Requirements

1. Meet the application requirements on the China Scholarship Council website and portal.
2. Meet the admission requirements of the applied universities.
3. Provide HAT or USAT score (HAT for masters/PhD and USAT for undergraduate).
4. Minimum score required: 50 out of 100 in HAT or USAT test.
5. Test validity: HAT (2 years), USAT (1 year)

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) states that the online application deadline is Monday, December 9, 2024.
