ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has declared Saturday, October 19, 2024 as a working day for all model schools and colleges in Islamabad, covering both urban and rural areas.

As per the details, the decision came as a response to academic shortfalls due to the suspension of classes during Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) activities.

The purpose of this directive is to ensure that the academic calendar remains uninterrupted, and students can complete the syllabus on time.

The additional workday will allow educational institutions to recoup teaching time lost on conference days and pursue other planned academic activities.

This notification is officially issued with the approval of Dr. Tabassum Naz, Director of Schools FDE. Schools under FDE jurisdiction will be required to hold make-up classes on that day to compensate for the disruption caused by the SCO event.
