Metro bus services to remain suspended in Islamabad, Rawalpindi amid SCO summit

ISLAMABAD: The metro bus services in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain suspended today due to stringent security arrangements for the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

In an official notification issued by The District Magistrate Islamabad, it was stated that the metro bus services in twin cities will remain closed on October 17- 2024, including all the feeder routes to ensure public safety and peace during the SCO meeting.

This marks the fourth consecutive day of halted operations, causing disruptions to public transportation in the twin cities.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan alternative travel arrangements, as the suspension is expected to impact daily commutes.

Normal operations are expected to resume once the summit concludes and security protocols are relaxed. Until then, residents are urged to be patient and plan accordingly.
