LAHORE: Government colleges across Punjab will start offering free preparation classes for MDCAT (Medical and Dental College Admission Test) from June 2. The initiative aims to support aspiring medical students by providing quality coaching at no cost.
To participate in the program, students must register in advance, as the preparation sessions are scheduled to begin in the first week of June.
Each participating college will receive Rs. 500,000 funding to facilitate MDCAT coaching. These funds will be used to provide necessary resources and hire qualified trainers.
Last year, about 10,000 students benefited from the program, in which 90 colleges across Punjab participated. This year, the initiative is expanding significantly, with about 150 government colleges expected to host MDCAT preparation sessions.
Each college will have five trained instructors who will guide students through the syllabus and test strategies.
This government-backed effort reflects a growing commitment to making vocational education more accessible to talented students, regardless of their financial background.
