Govt embarks Rs. 1.97 billion for Pakistani students to get scholarships in UK

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has allocated Rs. 1.97 billion for the Pak-UK Education Gateway initiative under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26.

As per the media reports, the Pak-UK Education Gateway is a collaborative program between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the British Council, aimed at enhancing academic partnerships, research collaboration, and institutional linkages between universities in Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The initiative focuses on key areas such as joint degree programs, research grants, faculty development, and higher education policy reform, with the broader goal of aligning Pakistan’s academic standards with global benchmarks.

The funding announcement comes ahead of the presentation of the Federal Budget for FY 2025-26, scheduled for tomorrow.
