LAHORE: The Punjab education department has introduced a new digital initiative to monitor the academic performance of teachers across the province.
The department has launched the “Teaching Practice Analysis Form” application, which now operates through the HRMS portal, and it requires teachers to provide daily reports of their teaching work.
The system requires teachers to upload a classroom teaching video, which should not exceed 5 MB in file size. The officials intend to create digital records of professional competencies, which will improve educational standards, and they want to establish transparent methods for evaluating teaching effectiveness in schools.
The Punjab government has authorized a stipend program which will provide funding of more than Rs. 4.21 billion to support college intern teachers.
The program will support more than 8,000 interns, encouraging practical teaching experience for young graduates and intermediate-level students. Intermediate-level interns will receive Rs. 55,000 per month for seven months, while BS-level interns will get Rs. 65,000 per month for ten months.
The internship program will provide participants with experience certificates, which will enhance their professional qualifications and job prospects.
The program reserves 404 minority seats, 243 seats for persons with disabilities, and 40 seats for transgender individuals to provide all participants with equal chances to succeed.
The officials said that these initiatives demonstrate the department’s dedication to raising teaching standards through its structured mentoring and assessment systems, which develop upcoming teachers.
