Govt launches programme to digitally train 1.8 million teachers

ISLAMABAD: In a groundbreaking move, the Federal Government of Pakistan has launched an ambitious program aimed at digitally training and certifying the country’s 1.8 million teachers, along with millions more who will join the workforce in the next decade.

This program represents a critical turning point in Pakistan’s educational history and is being directed by the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE) in partnership with LUMS School of Education.

The main goal of the program is to provide teachers with top-notch instruction and assistance, guaranteeing their professional development and empowerment.

By doing this, the government hopes to make teaching the most alluring, honorable, and prestigious job option available to young people in Pakistan.

Additionally, the initiative seeks to enhance the quality of education for students in both public and private schools, as well as at home.
