Govt to discontinue BS Programs in colleges

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department issued a notification declaring the halt of BS programs in government colleges of the province.

The notification stated that a majority of subjects taught under BS programs have been termed unnecessary, and the Associate Degree (AD) programs will be launched in their stead.

The department said that the number of students enrolling in BS programs has been low, with a very high dropout rate, and so the decision was taken.

The notification also stated that multiple subjects have been closed in 36 colleges, and the list is detailed. As many as 230 BS programs in 128 colleges have been converted to AD programs.
