LAHORE: Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar announced that the government has decided to include students of private educational institutions in the laptop scheme, under which 10,000 laptops will be distributed.
He said that the competent authority has approved the decision and the distribution will be done within the year. The Education Minister added that the education development budget has been increased to Rs. 20 billion. 110 billion.
Rana Sikandar said that the government upgraded 268 schools during 2025 and issued decisions in 37 cases related to harassment of teachers. He said that the government has also launched Teacher Takreem Awards for the first time.
The Minister added that work has been started on the establishment of Centers of Excellence in 10 districts along with the development of 300 Schools of Eminence across the province.
