PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally replaced the Bachelor of Science (BS) programs at public sector institutions throughout the province with Associate Degree (AD) programs.

The Higher Education Department announced on Wednesday that a number of the BS programs‘ courses were judged superfluous, which led to low enrollment and high dropout rates.

The department introduced AD initiatives to redesign the system in order to overcome the low enrollment.

According to the notification, a comprehensive list of disciplines that have been dropped at 36 universities has been released.

In total, 230 BS programs in 128 Institutions have been transformed into AD programs.

According to officials, the action is intended to raise the caliber and efficacy of the province’s educational system.
