KP govt announces scholarships for students across province

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has unveiled a Rs61 million scholarship fund for more than 700 minority students in the province.

Special Assistant for Information Barrister Saif inaugurated the disbursement of the scholarships among the students in a ceremony that took place in Peshawar.

As per the details, ten PhD scholars were awarded Rs1 million each, while twenty MPhil scholars received Rs200,000 each.

Besides, sixty professional institution students were given Rs100,000 each under the scholarship scheme. About 250 BS undergraduate students received Rs 70,000 each, and 400 intermediate-level students were given Rs 50,000 each as a scholarship.

Earlier, the Kingdom of Morocco provided 10 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students to join Moroccan Public Institutions of Higher, Technical, and Professional Education for the academic year 2025-26.

As per a release from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, these scholarships are available to AJK and Pakistani nationals in disciplines like Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, Medical Studies, Engineering, and Management Sciences. Students may apply for undergraduate, master’s, or PhD degree courses, based on eligibility conditions such as age and class requirements.

The applicants should be Pakistani or AJK nationals and should not possess dual nationality. Students applying for undergraduate studies should have completed 12 years of study (FSc or A-level) and should not be more than 23 years old.

Master’s applicants require 16 years of relevant studies, whereas PhD applicants should have at least 18 years of relevant studies.

A valid USAT or HAT score is required, depending on the study level, and nominations will be determined based on these test scores.
