CM Punjab Free Laptop Scheme announced for Private Students
LAHORE: The Punjab Government has officially announced the launch of the Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025.
The scheme has been approved to disburse laptops among students enrolled in public sector institutions across the province.
The 112,000 high-performance laptops, including 13th-generation Core i7 models, will be provided to the students starting October 31, 2025.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the ceremony in early September 6, with laptops reaching students by the end of October.
This next phase builds on earlier successes, where 14,000 laptops were given out in Lahore alone. The expanded effort will now reach students throughout Punjab, demonstrating the government’s commitment to updating education and encouraging innovative ideas.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the distribution of a hundred thousand laptops among students across Pakistan on merit.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister on International Youth Day in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The laptops will be allocated to students from all four provinces, the federal capital, Gilgit Baltistan, and AJK.
The Prime Minister said these laptops will be apart from the scheme for laptops through interest-based loans.
There is a quota system for the distribution of laptops, with 18% reserved for students in Balochistan’s higher education institutions and 5% for distance learning students.
