PM Shehbaz declares education emergency in Pakistan on ‘International Literacy Day’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared an education emergency across Pakistan, marking a significant step towards transforming the country’s education landscape.

On International Literacy Day, the prime minister called on the private sector and civil society to join forces with the government to achieve a more literate, just, and sustainable society.

The government has a new plan to improve education. They want to help 26 million children who are not in school to start attending classes.

The government will also give food to students in school so they don’t go hungry. Additionally, they will offer scholarships and rewards to encourage students to stay in school.

Finally, they will use technology to teach students new skills for the future. This plan aims to make education better and help students succeed

The prime minister emphasized that literacy is a fundamental human right and a gateway to empowerment, economic opportunities, and active participation in society.

In addition, the PM also highlighted the importance of partnerships between the government, private sector, and civil society to link education with employment opportunities and create a stronger workforce.

This initiative marks a significant shift towards prioritizing education and ensuring that all children have access to quality learning opportunities. With the government’s commitment and collective efforts, Pakistan is poised to make significant strides in education and create a brighter future for its citizens.
