LAHORE: The History and Culture of Pakistan, a book used in O-level classes, has been immediately banned by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board for unspecified grounds.

Regarding this, a notification from the Schools Education Department instructs all of the District Education Authority’s chief executive officers to carry out the directives. On June 13, the notification was sent out.

The novel, written by Nigel Kelly, was banned, but the authorities have not stated why.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and other officials verified the situation to a private news channel.

An official stated that the book was banned in May of last year and that the purpose of the most recent notification is to guarantee that the book ban is carried out.
