LAHORE: The Higher Education Department Punjab has initiated disciplinary action against several teachers involved in glaring errors in marking matriculation and intermediate examination papers.

According to reports, the names of the concerned teachers have been sent to the School Education Department. These teachers were issued show-cause notices on July 9, but despite several summons, they did not appear before the inquiry committee.

In response, the DPI (Elementary) Punjab has issued a fresh notice directing the teachers to appear for the inquiry today with a written explanation. The authorities have made it mandatory for all the concerned teachers to attend the session.

The education department said that strict disciplinary action will be taken after individual hearing.

The spokesperson added that the teachers involved may also face a ban on participating in the paper marking process in the future.
