Punjab to hire 12,500 more teachers

LAHORE: The provincial education minister assured on Tuesday that the Punjab government has approved the appointment of 25,000 School Teacher Interns (STIs) under its internship scheme.

As per the minister’s announcement, 12,500 interns who were already hired will remain on their assignments. Another 12,500 candidates will be appointed shortly for seven or nine-month internships.

The release said that notices and more information for the fresh round of hiring will be published soon. Candidates were requested to prepare beforehand.

The minister also committed that the recruitment process would be transparent, where every district would get its allocated quota to provide equal opportunity throughout the province.
