LAHORE: The School Teacher Internship program is underway with interviews for shortlisted candidates being conducted today, February 3, 2025, and tomorrow, February 4, 2025.
Relevant officers will conduct the interviews to choose candidates for the paid internship program. After the interviews, the merit lists of candidates selected will be displayed on the portal and the notice board of respective schools on February 6, 2025.
Objections, if any, to the final merit lists will be entertained at the District Education Officer’s (DEO) office on February 7. The review process of objections will be held on February 8, and the letter of agreement will be issued through the portal in favor of the selected candidates from February 10, 2025.
Earlier, the School Education Department launched the School Teacher Internship (STI) Program aiming at providing employment opportunities for educated youth aspiring to become teachers.
Many candidates will be required to perform duties in Primary, Elementary, High, and Higher Secondary Level schools in Punjab under this scheme.
The education department will recruit 12,500 interns for nine months, with the Punjab government paying stipends from Rs 38,000 to Rs 45,000 depending on the appointment location.
The interns at primary schools will receive a stipend of Rs 38,000, those at middle schools Rs 40,000, and interns at higher secondary schools Rs 45,000.
