QUETTA: The provincial authorities in Quetta ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including government, private, and semi-government schools, until November 14, Friday.

In the wake of the sudden shutdown of schools, the ongoing examinations of Classes 9 and 10 have been postponed, which makes thousands of students apprehensive about their school calendars.

The Board officials said that new dates for the postponed papers would be announced later; however, they did not disclose the exact date.

The ban has been enforced due to threats related to security, although there is no official declaration from the authorities. The sudden decision has caused immense disturbance in the academic activities of the students, especially for those who were seriously preparing for their exams.

Quetta Board officials have asserted that work on the revision of the exam schedule is in full swing, promising to announce fresh dates once the situation clears up. Private schools have also reportedly said they intend to start online classes during the closure to ensure continuity in students’ learning.

This decision has sparked concern across Balochistan about security preparedness and implications for the education system.
