Sindh announces scholarship scheme for minority students, Check eligibility criteria inside

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a scholarship scheme to facilitate minorities to promote quality education across the province.

The Department of Minority Affairs has officially announced the criteria for the Sindh minority scholarship scheme under which the children of minorities living in Sindh can apply.

The scheme aims to provide relief to students and their parents during the time of inflation so that every child has an equal opportunity to receive quality education.

Eligibility Criteria

According to the eligibility criteria announced by the Department of Minority Affairs Sindh, students who passed their exams last year and scored at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.

Additionally, students applying for the scholarship must have a monthly income of at least Rs. 35,000. Each successful student will be awarded a scholarship of 25,000.

The Sindh government has launched a pioneering program to provide educational support for children of convicted prisoners, to ease the educational burden of the family and to provide the children a healthy lifestyle.

The initiative was announced on the occasion of the Karachi Central Prison launch, during the ceremony, Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah and Prisons Minister Hasan Ali Zardari announced that 4,684 children of convicted inmates across Sindh would avail of educational support from primary to university level.

This initiative, a collaborative project between the education and prisons departments and Paigham-e-Pakistan, aims to prevent these children from being deprived of education because of the circumstances of their parents.
