KARACHI: The Sindh education department has launched an initiative to address the issue of ghost teachers across the province. Details reveal that the Sindh government has requested travel records for several ghost teachers who are reportedly living abroad.
In the initial phase, the FIA has provided a list of ghost teachers from the Shaheed Benazirabad district.
This action follows a report from the FIA.
Previously, the Sindh education department terminated eight ghost teachers. According to Akbar Leghari, these teachers, who had been receiving salaries for the past two years while residing abroad, have been dismissed from their positions.
The secretary also mentioned that Taluka education officers throughout the province are identifying ghost teachers.
He warned that strict measures will be taken against those involved.
