Sindh govt to provide free shuttle service to bus terminals in Karachi

Sindh govt to provide free shuttle service to bus terminals in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government will launch a shuttle service in Karachi starting August 14 to transport passengers to out-of-city bus terminals, according to provincial transport minister Sharjeel Memon.

Memon stated that this initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Karachi by relocating intercity bus terminals outside the city. The decision was made based on recommendations from the traffic police department.

Additionally, the government will provide free shuttle services from key city locations, including Cantt Station, Sagheer Shaheed Road, M.A. Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam Square, with buses running every 10 minutes.

Moreover, the shuttle service will operate under a public-private partnership model, and large buses will be restricted from entering the city, reducing transporters’ costs, Memon added.
