Sindh Govt Solar Panel Scheme 2024: Here’s how to qualify

Sindh launches free solar kits project for low-income households

KARACHI: Besides promoting renewable energy, the Sindh government is providing subsidized solar panels to low-income people to reduce the cost of electricity.

The program aims to increase access to energy and assist households by reducing their dependence on traditional sources of electricity.

Who can Apply?

Solar Scheme Criteria
Eligibility  BISP registered low-income households
Poverty Scorecard 21 to 50: Eligible for solar home systems
Poverty Scorecard 0 to 20: Households unable to pay Rs6,000; will receive solar kits fully subsidized

In the first phase, 2 lakh families will get solar panels across the region through Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). According to the latest updates, 50,000 systems are set to arrive in Karachi this October.

The cost of the system is around Rs 55,000, while families will pay only 20 percent and receive it. BISP data will be used to find out the details of families.
