High court orders to crack down illegal billboards in Karachi

KARACHI: Administrative authorities have decided to launch a crackdown on illegal billboards in Karachi.

A meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi, Hassan Naqvi, brought together Deputy Commissioners to address the issue of unsafe and unauthorized billboards. The survey conducted revealed numerous unsafe and illegal billboards across various districts of Karachi.

A detailed report from the survey was presented, listing the identified billboards. This list has been distributed to the Deputy Commissioners for prompt action.

The billboards targeted for removal include 20 each in the South and East Districts, 9 in the Central District, and 6 in Korangi.

Additionally, the Sindh High Court has mandated the removal of all signboards and hoardings from highways in Karachi to enhance public safety.
