Election 2024: How many seats are required in Pakistan for a government to be formed?

Pakistan held its 12th general election on February 8 and the people are now waiting for the formation of the new government and the appointment of the 24th prime minister.

Even though there was less violence that day, there were still accusations of election tampering because many recordings revealed that vote boxes had been tampered with in addition to disruptions in internet and cellphone connectivity.

The reserved seats will be very important in deciding who becomes the next head of state as the parties compete to win the most general seats.

To put it simply, any party that wants its leader to hold the position will need 172 votes out of the 342 members of the house; it is up to the party to decide whether to deploy its own members or recruit candidates from other parties.
