Nawaz Sharif challenges Results of NA-15 Mansehra Election

ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has officially challenged the results of the National Assembly constituency NA-15 Mansehra election.

In the unofficial count, independent candidate Shehzad Muhammad Gashtasab Khan prevailed with 105,249 votes, while Nawaz Sharif received 80,382 votes.

Sharif expressed concerns in his application to the Election Commission over the logistical difficulties that certain Mansehra localities were facing as a result of the heavy snowfall, which disrupted communication during the voting process. He maintained that the integrity of the election and voter turnout might have been impacted by these issues.

Sharif consequently asked that the results of NA-15 Mansehra be deferred until after a careful examination and resolving of the concerns brought forward. The application will now be examined by the Election Commission, which will also evaluate Sharif’s challenge’s grounds.
