RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandhar Momeni in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security situation, effective border management and cooperation between the two countries were discussed in detail during the meeting.
On this occasion, the Iranian Interior Minister appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts and indispensable diplomatic role in reducing tensions in the region, encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts and establishing peace.
According to the ISPR, at the end of the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthen close contacts and an effective system of cooperation for the promotion of regional security, stability and mutual prosperity.
