NEW YORK: WhatsApp is getting an interesting feature that is somewhat reminiscent of Facebook‘s Birthday Reminders.
A report by Wabetainfo said that the birthday reminder feature is being tested in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices.
That is, this feature will help users track or remember the birthdays of friends and family within WhatsApp itself, instead of relying on various calendar apps.
According to the report, under this feature, users will be notified about the birthdays of their saved contacts.
This will allow users to wish them a birthday by opening the chat directly.
The report also said that WhatsApp is also working to allocate a birthday section within the app.
This page will allow you to see the birthday dates of saved contacts, while you will get the opportunity to see important dates in one place.
According to the report, the birthday reminder feature will only work if the birth dates of your contacts are available in WhatsApp.
That is, if your friends have not provided their birthday details in WhatsApp, the birthday reminder will not be available.
