ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Association (APPPA) General Secretary Noman Ali Butt has announced the closure of petrol pumps from tomorrow.
In a video statement issued by General Secretary Noman Ali Butt, he said that our negotiations with the Ministry of Petroleum have failed.
He added that changes in the prices of petroleum products daily are not acceptable under any circumstances, and we reject the government’s proposed daily price mechanism.
Noman Ali Butt said that after the failure of the negotiations, petrol pumps across Pakistan will remain closed for an indefinite period from 12 midnight tomorrow.
Earlier, the government had decided that under the new pricing mechanism of petroleum products, OGRA will now issue ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel daily.
Under the new mechanism, OGRA will determine the new prices based on the average global prices of the last 7 days, while the previously issued prices will remain unchanged on Saturdays and Sundays.
