Pakistan Navy successfully tests LY-80 surface-to-air missile

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy has successfully test-fired a surface-to-air missile during a comprehensive exercise in the North Arabian Sea.

According to the ISPR, the LY-80 missile fired from a vertical launching system successfully targeted and destroyed an aerial target.

According to the ISPR, during the exercise, conventional and unmanned capabilities were also demonstrated in accordance with the requirements of modern naval warfare, while surface targets were effectively targeted through loitering munitions.

The ISPR said that the successful destruction of the target is clear proof of the strong air defense capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.

According to the statement, this exercise is a reflection of the practical readiness and further strengthening of the combat capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.

Taimoor Weapon System

Earlier, the Pakistan Air Force successfully conducted a flight test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to the ISPR, the Taimoor air-launched cruise missile is capable of hitting land and sea targets up to 600 km.

The ISPR said that its low-altitude flight capability is effective in evading enemy air and missile defense systems, while the Taimoor cruise missile is equipped with a modern navigation and guidance system.

The ISPR said that the success of the Timor missile has significantly increased the conventional defense capability of the Pakistan Air Force.

The Weapon System strengthens Pakistan’s reliable defense in the regional security environment. The successful test of the Timor missile reflects the achievement of national security goals.

This achievement is a testament to national determination and technological self-sufficiency.

According to the ISPR, the flight test was witnessed by senior officers and scientists of the Pakistan Armed Forces, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu congratulated the scientists and engineers.
