ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered to host the second round of talks between Iran and the US.

The US news agency quoted two Pakistani officials as saying that Pakistan has proposed holding the talks in Islamabad before the ceasefire expires.

According to the report, the second round of talks between the US and Iran could take place on Thursday, while the US official also expressed the expectation that the parties are considering new face-to-face talks for an agreement.

On the other hand, according to the US TV channel CNN, the US-Iran talks are still ongoing.

The US broadcasting organization quoted an American official as saying that progress is being made towards reaching an agreement.

It should be noted that the first round of talks between Pakistan and the US was held in Islamabad on April 11. Negotiations between the delegations of both countries continued for about 21 hours, but the talks ended without reaching a deal.

In this regard, US Vice President JD Vance said in an interview that there has been positive progress in the negotiations with Iran, we have put our proposals before Iran and now the ball is in Iran’s court.

On the other hand, Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian says that Iran is ready for a fair agreement, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that it is necessary to stop the new fighting, the war should not start again. There is no military solution to this crisis and Russia is ready to help in the settlement.
