Six children succumb to death after drinking poisonous milk in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: Six children have tragically died after consuming poisoned milk in Pir Goth tehsil, Khairpur, with the condition of two other girls reported as critical.

In response to the incident, Commissioner Sukkur Division Fayyaz Abbasi has requested a report from the Khairpur Deputy Commissioner.

Over 10 children fell ill after drinking the milk late that night, and they were rushed to the local hospital.

Initially, two children died immediately after drinking the milk and were identified as 18-year-old Asghar, 15-year-old Dilbar, Fehmida, and Ganj Baby. Whereas, the other critically ill girls were taken to a hospital.

But tragically, four more succumbed to their illnesses this morning, raising the death toll to six. All victims are from the same family. However, the other four kids are still in critical condition and under strict observation of doctors.

According to police, investigations are underway to determine how the milk became contaminated with poison.

Earlier, A resident fell ill after having a sandwich from the Imtiaz store which contained a metal earring causing some chemical reaction inside the person’s body due to which he was rushed to the hospital.
