QUETTA: A shocking revelation has come in Quetta where more than 500 polio teams have been found running fake vaccination campaigns.

As per the details, these teams are accused of marking unvaccinated children as vaccinated, raising serious concerns about the integrity of ongoing immunization efforts.

This alarming revelation was made through the strict supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Emergency Polio Center. The CEO disclosed that these fraudulent activities were detected as part of their regular surveillance while stressing the importance of vigilance in public health initiatives.

The development is particularly disturbing as it comes after a 28-month period during which Balochistan remained polio-free. However, in the last seven months alone, 12 new cases of polio have been reported in the province, resulting in three deaths. This recovery has once again placed Balochistan at the center of the country’s polio crisis.

In view of this situation, a special anti-polio campaign has been announced across the province, which is going to start from September 9. The initiative aims to address recent failures and ensure that all children in Balochistan are adequately vaccinated against the debilitating disease.
