Alarming: Rawalpindi reports 90 dengue fever cases in the last 24 hours

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi has reported 90 cases of dengue fever in the last 24 hours, on Friday.
A private news channel reported that currently, 29 patients suffering from dengue fever are under treatment at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, while other 35 getting treatment at Polyclinic Hospital.
Rawalpindi health authorities failed to kick-off anti dengue spray drive in the area to stop dengue cases.
According to the media reprots dengue fever cases increasing in Punjab, Sindh, KP and the federal capital.
As quoted by the World Health Organisation (WHO), dengue virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are also vectors of chikungunya, yellow fever and Zika viruses.
Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and unplanned rapid urbanization.
