ISLAMABAD: The anti-polio campaign has been initiated across the country on Monday, according to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)
Around 28 million children will be vaccinated in the campaign, with over 240,000 polio workers performing their duties nationwide.
Over 4.1 million children will be vaccinated in Punjab, 8.9 million in Sindh, and over 2.1 million children in 26 districts of Balochistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign will cover more than 5.7 million children in 27 districts. The NEOC clarified that in southern KP, the campaign will formally begin on September 15.
The campaign has been postponed in nine flood-affected districts of Punjab.

Polio vaccination efforts will also take place in two districts each in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
More than 450,000children in Islamabad will receive polio vaccinations to safeguard them, according to the NEOC.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial Health Department said the campaign has begun with its first phase in 19 districts, targeting more than 5.7 million children.
The province has reported 15 polio cases so far this year. The second phase of the campaign will be launched on September 15.
