Federal Minister for National Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has announced that the Sehat Sahulat Program, which was closed for many years, has been restarted so that the poor and low-income people can get easy access to quality medical services.
Talking to the media during a visit to Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, the federal minister said that the government is taking serious steps to improve the health sector and provide basic medical facilities to the people.
He said that the relaunch of the Sehat Sahulat Program will benefit thousands of deserving families who cannot afford the expensive treatment costs.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that 42 hospitals in the twin cities have been included in this program. Deserving patients registered in these hospitals will be able to avail free treatment, operations, diagnostic tests, and other medical services for various diseases.
He said that the government is trying to ensure that health facilities reach every citizen without discrimination and that no one is deprived of treatment due to financial difficulties.
The Federal Health Minister also emphasized that a strict monitoring system has been put in place to ensure transparency in the program.
According to him, if any hospital violates the rules and regulations of the Sehat Sahulat Program or is found to be involved in any kind of corruption, immediate action will be taken against it, and it will be excluded from the program.
He clarified that the misuse of resources allocated for the public will not be allowed under any circumstances.
