ISLAMABAD: A new medical study has found that doing a few minutes of vigorous physical activity every day can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, dementia and other serious diseases.

According to the study published in the European Heart Journal, data from 96,000 people were reviewed. The physical activity of these people was compared with the reduction in the risk of 8 major diseases. The study used data on physical activity throughout the week and examined the health effects for 7 years.

According to the results of the study, a few minutes of vigorous activity, such as climbing stairs, running or walking at a fast pace, provides protection against various chronic diseases and also reduces the risk of premature death. In particular, these activities have been shown to be more effective against edema-related diseases, heart attack, stroke and dementia.

According to the results, a few minutes of vigorous exercise reduced the risk of dementia by 63%, diabetes by 60% and premature death by 46%. Even light exercise benefits health, but vigorous physical activity improves heart function, makes blood vessels more flexible, and increases the body’s ability to use oxygen.

Experts say that by adding just a few minutes of exercise to your daily routine, you can improve your health and prevent serious diseases.
