KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sindh Healthcare Commission has granted permanent licenses to three Mirpur Khas hospitals for their quality healthcare services.
Three healthcare facilities, the Marvi Clinic in Thar Block-2, the Thar Foundation Hospital in Islamkot, and the Site Clinic of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC), have been granted permanent licenses with assistance from the Indus Health Network.
Dr. Altaf Khawaja, Director, Sindh Healthcare Commission, said that there are around 100,000 small and big, government and private healthcare centres in the province.
Only about 14,000 of these facilities have been registered till now, and 1,200 centres have been granted temporary licences. Only 113 centres in the whole province have been granted permanent licences.
Dr. Altaf Khawaja said that SHC evaluates the services and facilities of all healthcare centres regularly. Those centres alone that provide constant, high-quality, and standard healthcare services are granted a permanent license.
SHC Deputy Director Faheem Abro elaborated that these centres of Thar Foundation and Indus Health Network cleared the strict evaluation criteria and were granted a permanent license accordingly.
