17 Terrorists Detained through Intelligence-Based Operation in Karachi

KARACHI: On Thursday, security forces detained 17 terrorists, including a terror commander from Karachi, as part of an intelligence-based operation that disrupted the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) network.

Target killings, ransomware, and dacoity instances were all associated with the terrorists. The terrorists were planning to collect funds from traders for ransom, attack political and religious parties’ leadership to create law and order situation in Pakistan.

The arrested terrorists were brought to Pakistan by banned TTP in disguise of madrassa students. The terrorists were part of TTP network between 2007 to 2014 and were involved in attacks on security forces and NGOs at different places.
