Ceasefire deal opens Strait of Hormuz for two weeks

TEHRAN: After the US President announced a ceasefire, Iran announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz for everyone for 2 weeks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I am grateful to my dear brother Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their tireless efforts to end the war.

Abbas Araqchi said that Iran accepted Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s appeal and the US’s request for negotiations on the 15-point proposals, and President Trump has also agreed to a general framework on Iran’s 10-point proposals.

Abbas Araqchi added that in case of contact with the Iranian military, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be provided for two weeks, but technical restrictions will have to be taken into account.
