Couple detained for abusing Young Maid for consuming Meal without Permission in Lahore

LAHORE: In the Johar Town neighborhood of Lahore, a man and his spouse were taken into custody for abusing a 10-year-old maid who had eaten food without their consent.

After a citizen called the police at the 15 helpline, the victim, identified as Gulnaz Fatima, was saved. The girl has been placed in the Child Protection Bureau’s care.

According to reports, the maid was beaten with a wooden stick by suspects Javed Iqbal and Rubab Javed after she ate a meal without seeking her consent.

The young girl sustained wounds to several body areas. The victim will receive complete protection, according to the Child Protection Department, which also stated that a complaint has been filed against the suspects.

The incident occurred over two months after Tayyaba, a 14-year-old maid, was released from a Lahore hospital in December 2023 after enduring months of gruesome abuse at the hands of a judge and his spouse.
