Cricketer Ehsan Adil joins USA team after playing for Pakistan

COLOMBO: A unique record has been made by Pakistan-born cricketer Ehsan Adil after being selected in the United States cricket team for the ICC T20 World Cup and playing against Pakistan.

The 32-year-old fast bowler was included in the USA squad as a replacement for Jasdeep Singh, who was ruled out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

Following his inclusion, Ehsan Adil played a match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, becoming the first Pakistan-origin player to play an international match against his former national team.

Ehsan Adil is a Pakistani cricketer. Born in Gojra, Punjab, he began his international cricket career in 2013 for the Pakistani team against South Africa. Ehsan played three Test matches, taking five wickets for the team, and also played six One-Day Internationals, taking four wickets.

He also represented the Pakistani team at the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, after which he played his last game against Australia in the quarter-final match. He then moved to the USA, where he continued to play cricket, being awarded a cap prior to the World Cup match against Pakistan.
